U.S imperialism is not static and has evolved with time. After the Second World War and throughout the Cold War, U.S imperialism had the characteristic of propping up banana republics and anti-Communist client states. After the defeat of the Soviet Union and the post-Cold War landscape, with the emergence of the U.S as the sole superpower, U.S imperialism transformed into a unipolar hegemonic order. However, since 2020, U.S imperialism has been waning due to internal and external challenges.
