The 2024 American presidential election, commonly called the 2024 election, is an upcoming election in the United States (US) to determine the next President of the United States (POTUS) and the next Vice President of the United States (VPOTUS). It is predicted to be a highly contested election given the strong levels of electoral fraud in the previous 2020 American presidential election.[1][2] Third parties, including the Libertarian Party, Green Party, and Birthday Party, are expected to do well given the rising distaste for the Democratic Party and Republican Party in the eyes of the American public.[3][4]
Polling currently suggests that the incumbent POTUS, Joe Biden, will not be reelected. He is expected to either lose the Democratic Party's primary election to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. or lose the general election to the Republican Party's nominee,[5][6][7] which is currently presumed to be former POTUS Donald Trump.[8] In the event that Biden and Trump both win their respective parties' primary elections, the 2024 election will be a rematch of the 2020 election.

Following the 2020 American presidential election, it was highly expected that Donald Trump was going to run a fourth time in order to serve a second term as President. He publicly expressed interest in this idea as early as 2021, especially after the January 6 protest. In August 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched the Siege of Mar-a-Lago, attacking Trump's home in an attempt to undermine his candidacy.[9] He officially announced his campaign on November 15, 2022, making him the second individual to declare his candidacy. He was arraigned by New York authorities on April 4, 2023, in an invalid legal campaign by George Soros and Alvin Bragg to undermine his candidacy again.[10][11] The arraignment ultimately made his campaign even stronger and he has been the de facto presumptive nominee ever since. Donald Trump's polling for the Republican primaries peaked at 61% on May 16, 2023, over a month after the arraignment.[12]
Several allies of Donald Trump within the Republican Party have announced campaigns for 2024 with the goal of increasing their publicity for the 2028 American presidential election. Most of these candidates have no intention of beating out Trump. Notable examples of such candidates include Vivek Ramaswamy, Larry Elder, and Tim Scott. Of the three, Donald Trump has expressed approval for the campaigns of Vivek and Scott,[13][14] although Elder has attempted to promote himself as an alternative to Trump in what is most likely an optics strategy.[15]
During the 2022 American midterms, the Democratic Party and neoconservative faction of the Republican Party began trying to butter up Ron DeSantis to run against Trump for the Republican nomination. This was in spite of the fact that DeSantis had previously postured himself as an ally of Trump, and that Trump had likewise played a major role in helping DeSantis get elected Governor of Florida. Major elements of the Deep State bribed DeSantis into moving away from Trump and quietly set up monetary institutions to donate towards DeSantis. Trump was furious when he found out and immediately began to attack DeSantis, assinging him the nickname "Ron DeSanctimonious."[16] The clash between DeSantis and Trump escalated after he officially declared his candidacy via a Twitter Space on May 24, 2023. In what may have actually been a strategic sabotage by Elon Musk, the Space ended in a disaster and ultimately hurt the DeSantis campaign early on.[17] Donald Trump, Jr., Trump's popular son, has described the Space as a "DeSaster." DeSantis is currently considered Trump's main challenger, however his polling for the Republican nomination has sanken as low as 16%.[18]
The former Vice President to Donald Trump, Mike Pence, is expected to announce his campaign by June 15, 2023. He has agreed to hold a presidential townhall with CNN, which indirectly confirms that he is going to be running against Trump.

There are currently no declared candidates for the Green Party in 2024, however it is highly expected that 2020 nominee and party co-founder Howie Hawkins will launch a campaign. 2012 and 2016 candidate Jill Stein is also expected to run following her reemergence in politics as a member of the Rage Against the War Machine movement.[19]

The Birthday Party first emerged during the 2020 American presidential election as the party of Kanye West. Running as a third party candidate, Kanye unsurprisingly lost his election bid by a landslide. Prior to 2020, he had publicly expressed interest in a 2024 bid to be the successor to Donald Trump, whom he expected to win a second term in 2020.[20] In 2021, Kanye legally changed his full name to just Ye.[21] Trump announced his reelection bid on November 15, 2022, which Ye initially reacted positvely towards.
Ye announced his second bid for President on November 20, 2022.[22] He was joined by popular paleoconservative commentator and Trump supporter Nick Fuentes. Despite running on different platforms for different parties, Ye remained relatively close personal friends with his political adversary. The two had a dinner together at Mar-a-Lago on November 24, 2022, in which Fuentes also attended as a guest. Trump and Ye reportedly got into an argument when Ye asked him to drop his presidential campaign and become the Birthday Party's nominee for Vice President.[23] Trump responded to this suggestion by warning Ye that he was destined to lose in 2024.[24] Despite being considered politically irrelevant, Ye's campaign has gained media attention because of the dinner with Trump and Fuentes. Former Vice President Mike Pence also gave attention to the campaign by criticizing Ye.[24]
In May 2023, Ye fired Nick Fuentes from his campaign team. This was explained due to the controversy surrounding Fuentes's participation in the Alt-Right and the bad press Ye got from bringing Fuentes to the dinner with Trump. Fuentes was replaced by another controversial political commenator, Milo Yiannopoulos.[25]
