The opposition to Stalin decided they had to get together again. They secretly formed the Bloc of Oppositions.

Documented evidence of this Bloc existing in 1932 came to light in 1980. Until then, Western historians claimed Stalin made it all up. After the evidence came out, Trotskyist historian Pierre Broue was forced to admit the Bloc existed, but claims it must have disbanded after 1932, because there is no written evidence of it.
