Video description[edit | edit source]

In this video, Chairman Matthew of the Maoist Communist Party explains why conservatives must be communists, and provides various points to demonstrate that communism is conservative.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Conservatism can mean various things depending on what you want to conserve. If conservatism means someone who supports family values, religion, hard work, national identity, marriage, gender roles, traditional cultures, cuisines, art forms then it is not only compatible with communism but to be a conservative, you must be a communist.
  • While feudalism was exploitative and the lives of peasants weren't better, it was closer to socialism than capitalism because of the fact that feudal peasants had less work to do and he'd organize his own labor and manage his own day.
  • Capitalism is more corrupt and nihilistic than socialism as the bourgeoisie think they have become God under capitalism. Even if they claim to hold pro-religious views, it is inauthentic in reality.
  • Adding to the above note, the same applies to the family too as the bourgeois family is about seeking inheritance. Chairman Matthew quotes Engels in Origins of the Family, Private Property, and the State where he says "This human right, however, differed in one respect from all other so-called human rights. While the latter, in practice, remain restricted to the ruling class (the bourgeoisie), and are directly or indirectly curtailed for the oppressed class (the proletariat), in the case of the former the irony of history plays another of its tricks. The ruling class remains dominated by the familiar economic influences and therefore only in exceptional cases does it provide instances of really freely contracted marriages, while among the oppressed class, as we have seen, these marriages are the rule.
  • Full freedom of marriage can therefore only be generally established when the abolition of capitalist production and of the property relations created by it has removed all the accompanying economic considerations which still exert such a powerful influence on the choice of a marriage partner. For then there is no other motive left except mutual inclination." As Engels points out, authentic family values can only be found in the working class since, as Matthew says, "they have no interest in succession and they have only themselves to give in true love."
  • In the early Soviet Union, there were militant atheists blowing up religious institutions. Lenin tolerated them in order to preserve the unity of the Bolsheviks so that they could win the revolution. These organizations, however, stood in contrast to the interests of the peasantry. Joseph Stalin, however, empowered the peasants by reviving the Orthodox Church. And, for instance, the film industry made movies representing ancient Russian culture.
  • Stalin recognized that technological modernity was not contrary to ancient Russian civilization.
  • When Nikita Khrushchev took over the Soviet leadership, he began to reinstate religious persecutions in order to make the Soviet Union more socially liberal and atheistic.
  • Abortion and contraception were gradually legalized whereas Stalin banned sodomy, and under Stalin motherhood was venerated and fought to revive traditional Russian Christian values.
  • In China, Mao Zedong also held conservative values. While they weren't Christian, it was multi-religious. The values implemented by Mao were very similar to Stalin as Mao implemented a law which only allowed heterosexual marriages and the divorce rate was extremely low.
  • Under capitalism, religion is a political tool. However, when it can't be used as a political tool, they discard it. Which is what happened.
  • Capitalism destroys the family by promoting Malthusian policies such as mass contraception and abortion instead of maternity leave. Working people are told to abort their children because they are "too poor to live a good life" and such things.
  • Domestic labor is uncompensated under capitalism.
  • To add to above, the promotion of Malthusian policies such as contraception and maternity shifts the blame onto the people. To them, if the poor were to stop breeding, poverty would be solved. For communists, this view is intolerable.
  • In communist countries, the communists are the conservatives. Those who support socially conservative policies are the communists. This is the case in China. In places like Shanghai, where a lot of people are pretty much latte liberals, it is a hotbed of rightism. This is the case for Eastern Europe too. In general, the rightists are the ones who are socially liberal, whereas the communists are socially conservative. In truth, fascism will come from liberals.
  • The bourgeoisie overthrew feudalism by creating social chaos. However, the bourgeoisie won't do the same to establish socialism so communists shouldn't use that as their psychological appeal.
  • In the UK, you have conservative parties who support gay marriage and transgenderism because their "conservatism" is only related to economics. They only want to conserve the profits of billionaire pedophiles instead of traditional moral values, and so communists must become the new conservatives by demonstrating to the working class that these fake conservatives have sold out to these billionaire pedophiles and uphold socially conservative moral values in every way possible. And thus, in order to be a conservative, you must support the communists. That should be the psychological appeal of communists.
  • The working class is conservative. They don't want to destroy marriage, abolish the family, nor do they care about intersectionality. It is a threat to them to suggest any of these things. So, communists portray Stalin and Mao as conservative and explain this to working people instead of going along the Trotskyite bandwagon.
