Robert "Bob" Bruce Avakian is an American Marxist-Leninist political activist who developed the American Maoist movement of New Communism. He originated in the New Left, however he rejected it as an astroturfed movement and instead joined the Black Panther Party (BPP) in 1969. He founded the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) in 1975, serving as the party's Chairman to this day. Nowadays, he is criticized and accused of being a paid actor because he turned against anti-imperialism by supporting Ukraine against Russia and centralized the RCP into a cult of personality.[1][2][3]
