The Green Scare is a popular tendency of 21st century Islamophobia in North America and Europe that attempts to scapegoat the rise of terrorism, the migrant crisis, and rising crime rates on Islam, an Abrahamic religion that is dominant in the Middle East and large parts of Africa and Central Asia. The scapegoating of Islam was largely popularized by neoconservatives during the War on Terror.[1]
