Gestalt is a concept used in psychology and especially social psychology today, which refers to how people perceive the world, it holds that sum of parts of a thing is different than its whole.

For example, how people perceive an overall image of a painting would be to break it down into its individual elements, such as the exact amounts of primary colors applied to the different parts of the canvas, the types of brushstrokes used to apply the colors, and the different geometric shapes they form. According to Gestalt psychologists, however, it is impossible to understand how an object is perceived only by studying these building blocks of perception. One must focus on the phenomenology[1] of the perceivers—on how an object appears to them—instead of on its objective components [2].

Haz often uses this concept to describe: how art has taken the thematic character of being irreducible to single works and how like a gestalt it functions to thread together into a bigger whole - corresponding to AI which is an "unprecedented way in which individuals can interface with the total social reality produced by human beings". It is only through having an understanding of Marxism which is a total integration of world history, that takes whole of reality into account, one can appreciate what AI stands for. [3][4]

Another moment when Haz talks about gestalt is while he was pointing out the nihilistic tendencies and outlook in Zizekians versus Landian (accelerationists). The latter have a very compelling gestalt view or a holistic sense of reality and our place in it which is not the case with Zizekians. Due to this reason no one was drawing out any political, aesthetic, cultural, or any other conclusions from Zizek's theoretical contributions relevant in 21st century. Zizek who draws from French school and psychoanalysis.[5]
