The Movement for a People's Party is a populist-left political party created and led by Nick Brana since November 9th, 2017. The Party was founded from the ashes of the 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign, after Brana and others called for Sanders to leave the Democratic Party and run under a new populist party. When Sanders refused, Brana began constructing the Movement for a People's Party.

Brana was harassed by Leftists after a #MeToo allegation, as well as other fractures, were directed at him. According to his account, the Party's affiliate contractors were corrupt and a faction of Party members were conspiring with them in order to coup Brana and other Party leadership and move the Party in a liberalized direction similar to that of the Democratic Party or Andrew Yang's Forward Party. Brana subsequently expelled the leadership in support of this coup. He spoke with Jimmy Dore, a longtime supporter of the People's Party, following these events.
