The global elite are those who hold immense sociopolitical power over world affairs, usually through their accumulation of wealth and the subsequent influence that wealth is able to buy them. They are referred to by many names, such as the bourgeoisie (in Marxian terminology) and The Establishment.
Given the US Dollar's present and fleeting status as global reserve currency, the U.S. Federal Reserve bank is the highest level of the global elite, which itself is a private corporation with many Wall Street banks. Considering the "special relationship" the U.S. has with Britain, it can be argued that the City of London is joined at the hip alongside Wall Street.
