The Libertarian Party (LP), also called the Liberation Party due to its revolutionary tendencies,[1] is a counter-hegemonic political party in the United States that advocates for peace, civil liberties, and free markets. Ron Paul Maoism is the concept generated to bridge the gap between American Libertarianism and Marxism-Leninism.
Caucuses[edit | edit source]
The Libertarian party has many caucuses, including:
Mises Caucus[edit | edit source]
The Mises Caucus was founded in 2017 as a response to the LINO (Libertarian in Name Only) leadership and campaign of Gary Johnson. It is promoting a political realignment of the Libertarian Party away from centrism and towards the ideas of Ron Paul, who represents a more populist libertarianism.
It generally has views that can be described as paleolibertarian, socially conservative and minarchist.
LPRadicals[edit | edit source]
The Libertarian Party Radical Caucus was founded in 2006 in response to the Portland Massacre, which was a deletion of a large part of the Libertarian Party platform which indicated a realignment towards the center.
The LPRadicals have politics that can be described as anarcho-capitalist, populist and classical liberal. They have a view that no policy that increases government should be used against another. They support open borders, abolishing NATO and abolishing welfare.
Classical Liberal Caucus[edit | edit source]
The Libertarian Party Classical Liberal Caucus was founded in 2022 after the Mises Caucus takeover of the LP.
The Classical Liberal Caucus is more centrist in it's branding and ideology, supporting NAFTA, NATO and opposing populism.
