The Socialist Workers Party (SWP) is a political party in the United States which claims to follow Trotskyist and Castroist. It was founded in 1938 as one of the founding parties of the Fourth International (FI) of Leon Trotsky. The SWP was created by a group of Trotskyists who were expelled from the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) including James P. Cannon, and Max Shachtman (who later became a forebear to the Neoconservative movement).

The Socialist Workers Party has evolved into various directions since the days of Leon Trotsky. It has a pro-Cuba and pro-DPRK position that is unusual for a Trotskyist organization. However it is a defender of a two state solution for Palestine, as well as having the state department line on Russia. However they have been outspoken about opposing wokeness and the Democratic Party, including an article defending Kyle Rittenhouse.
