Why is Second Thought So Weird? is an Infrared livestream from Sun Jan 29, 2023.[1]
Video description[edit | edit source]
A response to Second Thought's recent 'Why is American Patriotism So Weird' video[2], where I point out his revision of basic, Marxist-Leninist orthodoxy in favor of an unabashed form of liberalism. Second Thought, or JT Chapman, is partaking in the liquidation of the CPUSA into a fully-fledged Open Society party, and has made a video for gullible thoughtless liberal NPCs that, while accommodating the sentiments of young Democrats, stands entirely opposed to basic Marxism.
Notes[edit | edit source]
Intro thoughts[edit | edit source]
- The two archetypes of the global communist movement are the Communist Party of Greece (bad) versus the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (good)
- You can't have communism without patriotism
- German communists were patriots, they opposed Nazism. Americans can be patriotic while opposing the American empire.
- JT is a RedLib
- The RedLibs take Stalin's quote from Marxism and the National Question out of context, pretending that the "banner of bourgeois nationalism" refers to the nation, rather than the specific bourgeois form of the nation[3]
- American Patriotism isn't any weirder than any other Patriotism, the only anti-patriotic people are the bourgeoisie, the global elites
- Xi Jinping talks about a shared destiny and a community of mankind, which is not in contrast to Chinese patriotism
- Philosophically, Marxism argues that every universality has a determinate form. You can't begin with abstract universality, you must engage with the determinate forms of patriotisms in order to sublate patriotism (this hasn't happened yet, and JT Chapman can't will it into existence)
