The Bilderberg group has met annually since 1954, when it was established with the stated aim of preventing another world war. The group's secrecy and elite membership have made it notorious; groups and individuals ranging from Fidel Castro and Lyndon LaRouche to the John Birch Society and Alex Jones have described it as manipulating world politics from behind the scenes, aiming to install a world government of bankers and oligarchs. On the left it is seen as an exponent of finance capital, on the right world communism. Membership overlap (notably, Antoine Pinay co-founded both groups) with ''Le Cercle'' has led some to identify the two, but while they both came out of the movement for a United Europe, the latter organization was not merely a forum for policy coordination but also an intelligence network critically involved in the CIA sponsored terror campaign in Europe known as Operation Gladio. Moreover ''Le Cercle'' was dominated by Catholic cults and knighthoods like Opus Dei and the Order of Malta for much of its history, with strong ties to the old continental nobility, and aimed at something more akin to a new Holy Roman Empire. Bilderberg on the other hand was firmly dominated by the Anglo-American establishment and populated by international bankers and industrialists.<ref>https://visupview.blogspot.com/search?q=Bilderberg</ref> | The Bilderberg group has met annually since 1954, when it was established with the stated aim of preventing another world war. Behind the cloud of occult speculation, Bilderberg group is in fact a very serious organization - but not in the fantastic sense imagined by some of its critics. This collection of international bankers, industrialists and government officials attend to the boring but profound task of organizing the world economy. Not in the sense of affecting some radical scheme, but in the more mundane sense of ensuring "business as usual" carries on through political and economic shocks to the global and economy. This is in keeping with their official purpose of preventing another world war. Much of its early membership could remember the breakdown of the global economy during the 1930s, which in the minds of many was precisely what led to World War II.<ref>https://publicintelligence.net/bilderberg-conference-1973/ For instance in this 1973 meeting where, operating on advance intel of the looming OPEC price hike, they make plans policy coordination to deal with petrodollar recycling in advance, and alongside reform the global monetary system</ref> | Behind the cloud of occult speculation, Bilderberg group is in fact a very serious organization - but not in the fantastic sense imagined by some of its critics.
Membership overlap (notably, Antoine Pinay co-founded both groups) with Le Cercle has led some to identify the two, but while they both came out of the movement for a United Europe, the latter organization was not merely a forum for policy coordination but also an intelligence network critically involved in the CIA sponsored terror campaign in Europe known as Operation Gladio. Moreover Le Cercle was dominated by Catholic cults and knighthoods like Opus Dei and the Order of Malta for much of its history, with strong ties to the old continental nobility, and aimed at something more akin to a new Holy Roman Empire. Bilderberg on the other hand was firmly dominated by the Anglo-American establishment and populated by international bankers and industrialists.[1]
Much of its early membership could remember the breakdown of the global economy during the 1930s, which in the minds of many was precisely what led to World War II.[2]
