Hua Guofeng (born Shu Zhu; 16 February 1921 - 20 August 2008) was a Chinese communist politican who was the second paramount leader of the People's Republic of China from 9 September 1976 until 22 December 1978. Government offices Hua Guofeng held: 1. Premier of the PRC State Council (4 February 1976 - 10 September 1980) 2. First Vice Chairman of the CCP Central Committee/First Vice Chairman of the CCP (7 April 1976 - 7 October 1976) 3.
