The <b>People's Party</b>, also known historically as the <b>Populist Party</b> and more recently as the <b>Movement for a People's Party</b> ('''MPP'''), is a [[Third party (United States)|third party]] in the [[United States]] that is known for traditionally [[left-wing politics|left-wing]] views and its common usage of [[populism]]. First founded in 1892, the People's Party was originally led by [[James B. Weaver]] and managed to garner 22 [[Electoral College]] votes in the [[1892 American presidential election]]. The initial version of the party died out by the [[1912 American presidential election]], although it was later revived in 1971. The contemporary version of the People's Party was founded in 2017 by [[Nick Brana]] and [[Jimmy Dore]]. The current leadership of the People's Party works side-by-side with the [[Center for Political Innovation]] (CPI) and the [[Libertarian Party]] (LP), being one of the main sponsors of [[Unite Against the Imperialists]] and [[Rage Against the War Machine]].
